I’d like to take the opportunity on this meaningful day to express my long overdue appreciation and thank you the amazing work you have done and the positive impact you have created as a teacher to Jaeda and as the Vice-principal of White Lodge UEC.
I was filled with apprehension when I saw that the Welcome Scope of Term 2 2018 was signed off by yet another new name; I’d lost count of the number of principals and teachers that came and left in the one year since Jaeda was enrolled in Play Group in 2017. However, I’m now ever so grateful that you came along. As a Vice-principal, you are receptive to parental feedback and open to constructive criticism for the improvement of the school’s learning environment. I appreciate your dedication and commitment on taking on the dual role of Vice-principal and teacher to the Nursery class, and doing a great job at both!
Under your care, Jaeda has grown into a confident child who enjoys and looks forward to school. From the stories that Jaeda shares with us daily, as well as the pictorial updates on Storypark, I see the effort that you have put into incorporating the curriculum into various interactive activities so that the children learn through play. I appreciate that the children in your class are able to express themselves freely while under your guidance, and it shows through the art work that Jaeda brings home; they are not what an adult thinks should look or is “real”, but are truly pieces of her own.
You are also genuinely concerned about Jaeda’s well-being in school and at home. You are always available during drop-offs and pick-ups to keep me or my husband updated on Jaeda, and we are also able to freely approach you anytime for a chat. More importantly, you have always been more than willing to work with us to resolve any concerns we have. I am especially thankful of how you and Zhang Lao Shi have worked with us to help Jaeda overcome her frequent need to use the washroom at school.
I’d also like to give a quick shout out to Zhang Lao Shi. Under her patient care and guidance, Jaeda now enjoys mandarin lessons, and is constantly singing and dancing to the Chinese songs that she’s learnt at school.
Thank you, Ms Nura, Zhang Lao Shi, and the rest of the teachers at White Lodge UEC.
