How long did your child attend White Lodge?
Our son attended White Lodge from January 2016 to July 2018. A little over 2 and a half years. He has since moved to UWCSEA and is currently in K1.
What were some of your reasons for choosing White Lodge?
We had done some research online while I was searching for a preschool for our son. What impressed us was how positive parents were in their reviews about the school and its teaching staff. We also liked the play-based approach to teaching. The warm and friendly teaching staff also helped with our decision.
What were some of the things your child enjoyed most at White Lodge?
He loved going to school! He loved his gym time, Beebot, various activities and events held at school. He used to be so excited about the Annual Concert. But most of all he absolutely loved his teachers and his friends. Our son is a shy boy so it’s special that he felt so comfortable at school and all that is because of the teachers and the environment that they have created at school. It was an everyday struggle for me to bring him back home from school.
What has been one major highlight of your family’s involvement with the school?
We absolutely love White Lodge! The teaching staff at White Lodge is exceptional! The warmth and love they shower on the children is something that we as a family value immensely. We also like the various social and cultural events and activities that are held in the school and how the school involves the children and their family in these events.
Please share with us how our curriculum helped prepare your child for the next phase of schooling.
The play-based and enquiry-based approach to learning helped our son settle down in his new school. He was also well-versed in Mandarin (Thanks to the Mandarin curriculum at White Lodge), when he joined the new school. We feel that the White Lodge curriculum is very good, very wholesome and prepares kids for the next phase very well.
How was your child’s transition from White Lodge to an International school?
His transition was seamless as he was already aware of and comfortable with the play-based and enquiry-based approach to learning.
How was the trial session that you took with your child before enrolling?
He went for 1 day trial. It went well and from what we could see, he liked being in the class despite being a shy child.
