This term has been an eventful and successful one. Not only was it marked with wonderful units which were well received by the children and teachers alike, the term also celebrated the achievements of our children through events like the Annual Art Exhibition and Big Sing held in May at Enabling Village. An event like this is a wonderful testament to our shared efforts at bringing the units to life and sharing key messages of our role in this world.
White Lodge celebrated the end of Term 2 with a Farmer’s Market at each of its seven schools last Friday. The celebration was a culmination of two weeks of activities and learnings about the farm – including milking a cow and making chickens in art class.
Children and teachers alike came dressed as farmers and farm animals and enjoyed buying and tasting the wonderful goodies that were made in cookery class and shared by parents.
Recently, we have received many wonderful reviews from both local and international schools like Dulwich and the Singapore American School and are proud of our school readiness programme introduced at the Kindergarten level. Our students are commended well for their independence and excelling in reading, writing, spelling and maths.
Term 2 also saw the successful drumming programme that was piloted at East Coast school. We worked closely with Drumming Prodigy Singapore and the children were able to perform at the annual Art Exhibition and Big Sing, as well as at their End of Term celebration. Due to its success, drumming will be part of the curriculum next term for the rest of the schools.
Apart from the Annual Art Exhibition and Big Sing, Term 2 was packed with other exciting events, including Family Sports Day, a field trip to The New Luncher to celebrate Food Revolution Day, and Earth Day.
The upcoming term will be an opportune time to weave and integrate awareness of self and the environment we live in into the curriculum. Term 3 will see us through new activities on PALS (Playing and Learning to Socialise), Positive Education, Inventors and Invention and Book Week.
Term 3 commences June 26. For more info, contact us here.
