One of the most anxiously awaited occasions in any school is its Annual Concert and for White Lodge, the concert was held over two days on the 22nd and 23rd of November 2028.
Held at the Stamford American International School, the concerts were attended by families and friends of White Lodge from across the seven centres. Everyone was excited as the concert hall filled with fun, frolic and amusement.
The concert was a collaboration by the seven schools, where teachers created various props and designed a farm-themed set for the mini musical, “How Does Your Garden Groove?”
In the imaginative and humorous musical, we met a group of talented vegetables who grew in Freddy and Franny’s farm. The stage was littered with vegetables of every colour, from purple eggplants to green peas and brown spuds. From leafy vegetables who sang “Lettuce Entertain you” and corn and peas sang “Don’t put us in a can-can!”, this musical was not your typical garden variety. With the help of farmers Freddy and Franny, these lively veggies sang and danced their way into everyone’s heart.
Another important feature of the concert preparation was the regular practice session of the performances. Children participated in the song, dance and drumming sessions in both in English and Mandarin. This year was the first time in 19 years that the children sang “live”, unaccompanied by a backing music track.
