Over 80 families joined the White Lodge team to participate in the Amazing Race Challenge held at the Singapore Botanic Gardens last Saturday.
Children from Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes came dressed in their school colours and enjoyed a day out with their friends and families, with a little bit of friendly competition thrown into the mix. They worked together as a team to solve clues along the way, which led them to discover new facts about flora and fauna at the different areas of the Botanic Gardens.
Every child received a frisbee for completing the race, and enjoyed a picnic at the park to recover from the adrenaline-pumping event.
The Playgroup and Pre-Nursery children did not miss out either. They enjoyed a Games Carnival organised at the Lawn by Symphony Lake.
At White Lodge we understand the importance of active play as children reap a lot of benefits from being out in nature as they are not restrained by space. Each term, families are invited to an excursion that aims to provide sensory experiences and develop critical thinking skills, creativity and social skills for the children.
Field Trips enhance children’s learning in the ‘real world’, providing valuable learning opportunities which may not be available in a school setting. These experiences provide for provocations that lead to further investigations in the classroom and support children in making strong connections to their learning. We thank all the parents who continue to support us in our efforts as we continue to make learning more meaningful for our children.
Last term, White Lodge organised a Family Sports and Games Day at the Stamford American International School. You can read more about it here.
